Hide & Seek in Spud Arena: how to hide as a prop and how to find the hiders
Hide & Seek is a team mode in Spud Arena for up to eight players. One side hides by turning into ordinary objects around the arena, and the other side looks for them. Nobody is knocked out in this mode: seekers carry a toy water gun, and a hider who gets soaked simply joins the seekers.
How a round works
About a quarter of the room starts as seekers, always at least one. The seekers first count to 30 with their eyes shut while the hiders find a spot. Every arena is scattered with ordinary props: crates, barrels, pumpkins, potato sacks, milk cans, flower pots and cabbages. A hider looks at a prop nearby and presses the key shown on screen to become a copy of it, then finds a natural place to stand and keeps still. Hiders see themselves from behind, so it is easy to check how the disguise looks.
When the count ends, the seekers open their eyes and start searching with the Splash Blaster. Splashing a hidden player finds them: they shake off the water for a moment and then help the seekers. Splashing an ordinary prop costs the seeker a little stamina, and a seeker who soaks too many ordinary props has to sit down for a few seconds.
Who wins
The seekers win if they find every hider before the timer runs out. If at least one prop is still hidden when time is up, the hiders win. Finding a hider earns 15 coins, and staying hidden until the end earns 40 coins. The results show how many props each seeker found, and the best seeker gets the Best Finder award.
Tips for hiders
- Choose a prop that already appears nearby. A single pumpkin among crates is easy to spot.
- Stand where such a prop would really be placed: against a wall, beside furniture or next to other props.
- Keep still once you are in place. A prop that moves catches the eye.
- You can copy a different prop if you change your mind.
Tips for seekers
- Look for things that do not fit, such as two identical props side by side or a prop standing alone in the open.
- Watch for anything that moves.
- Think before you splash: every ordinary prop you soak costs stamina.
- Found hiders join your side, so the search gets faster as the round goes on.
